Reliance Big Entertainment, an entertainment company the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, has acquired the digital images business of the US-based DTS. This is the first acquisition by Reliance Big Entertainment in the digital services space overseas.

The American firm’s business DTS Digital Images (DDI), also known as Lowry Digital Images, offers picture quality improvement services to movies, television and video content in Hollywood.

DDI is a leading firm in the field of digital restoration and enhancement of moving pictures and makes use of proprietary tools and algorithms.

The company has worked with Walt Disney, Paramount Pictures, MGM and 20th Century Fox, among others.

With this acquisition, Reliance Big Entertainment would gain access to Hollywood studios for its content and post-production services, said the company’s media release.

It will be cater to the rapidly growing 3D content market with technology solutions for correcting original stereoscopic footage and re-rendering 2D footage into 3D.
