Google to push alliance with Yahoo
Google proposes to make its business deal with its rival Yahoo!.Two weeks back Yahoo! decided to sell ads along with its search results, to reject the offer from Microsoft with a $44.6 billion take over. Yahoo! felt the bid was too low and hence avoiding Microsoft’s take over.
The tie-up between Google and Yahoo would also give a combined 80 per cent share in the search market.
Microsoft chief executive Steve Ballmer has threatened to launch a hostile takeover of Yahoo if the company did not go with the agreement.
Previously the bid was around $30 billion, Yahoo rejected the bid as it “substantially undervalues” the company and quoted for higher bidding. As a result the bid was raised to $44.6 billion. Still then Yahoo! was not satisfied. Struggling to get much higher bid.
Things might change between the 3 major companies due to the 2 weeks test of Yahoo! and Google on ad revenue.
