Infosys may change its name in France
In France infosys Technologies may be forced to change its name as it constitutes certain trademark infringement in that country.On April 15,2008, a civil court in France,ruled that the use of the name Infosys constituted infringement of the trademark,corporate name and trade name Infosys France in
France and that they could not use that name”Infosys” in France as a trademark,corporate name, trade name and domain name with immediate effect.
The rulling in France,or a similar ruling in any jurisdiction in which they operate,could disrupt their ongoing business and management and employees
and also their future business.
The French court ruling further said that the Indian company could not use the name “Infosys” in France as a trademark, corporate name, trade name and
domain name “with the immediate effect”.Infosys has two sales and marketing offices in France.
“Infosys France” is a technology and consulting firm based in France and is part of an integrated management consulting services provider”Groupe Infodis”
